Every import needs
a paper trail.
The wider catalogue contains 1,000 real, imported product records. They are a starting point for comparison, not a claim that we tested the products or independently verified every specification.
Draft records, not finished products. Unadmitted imports are excluded from public product selection and comparisons, not merely marked noindex. The admission gate checks manufacturer evidence, exact identity, permitted images and reviewed presentation. Read the enforced publishing standard.
Source and dates
Source: Doc Oliver PC Part Dataset (PCPartPicker-derived), which describes its data as collected from PCPartPicker. Repository snapshot: 2025-07-23. Imported locally: 05/09/2026. An import date is not a fresh specification check.
Every original import retains the pinned source file and its zero-based record index. File hashes and counts are recorded in the local import manifest. Pinned commit: c52a04ca9465c83997ed335f7767b09a2005dd26. Curated submissions are separate records with their own field-level primary references.
The upstream repository declares the MIT (upstream repository; underlying third-party rights require separate review) licence; its notice is retained with the import. This is not an assertion that the repository’s licence independently clears every upstream data provider’s rights. Source/licensing review remains a publication prerequisite.
What was included—and what was not
- 100 distinct normalised source names in each category, in upstream order. Multiple colour and configuration rows sharing the same name do not inflate the product count. The chosen record’s configuration is retained.
- The original import accepted three substantive fields, or two for speakers. That was an import threshold only; it is not the publishing standard. Every category now has its own stricter required fields.
- No old USD prices, price-per-capacity fields, live offers, estimated benchmarks or generated quality ratings.
- Headphone and speaker frequency-response fields are omitted because the source mixes units. Ambiguous values are not repaired by guessing.
- Unknown values remain unknown. A missing value is not “no”, zero, a disadvantage or a measurable difference.
- Names and configurations come from the source, but complete manufacturer part numbers, ASINs, exact retailer matches and product photographs are not supplied. These records stay drafts. Category illustrations are navigation artwork, not substitute product photos.
- Do not infer compatibility from a few matching fields. Socket, memory, power, dimensions and firmware requirements need appropriate manufacturer checks.

Phone comparisons are a separate dataset
The ten phones retain their field-level manufacturer citations, scoring caveats and UK model definitions. Their methodology does not automatically apply to the imported catalogue. Read the phone methodology.
Individually curated product comparisons
Newly admitted products use exact-model manufacturer facts and documented official product imagery, not a relabelled copy of the original import. Each specification and written trade-off links to its source. Only Amazon or official manufacturer imagery is accepted; source and usage-basis details are retained in the image directory below. The current processor graphics compare stated core counts, L3 cache and default TDP; they do not estimate benchmark results or declare a winner. The comparison identifies tray processors explicitly, and does not assume the accessories of a boxed retail bundle.
Storage graphics compare decimal capacity, the warranty time limit and the warranty write threshold. These are different measures, not a reliability rating. Peak read/write claims remain in the cited specification table with their conditions; differing manufacturer test systems are not turned into a performance ratio.
Mouse graphics compare stated operating weight, programmable controls and body length, with battery and removable-weight conditions retained. DPI is not an accuracy score. Headphone diagrams explain explicitly sourced open/closed construction; impedance describes an electrical load, not sound quality. Headphone weight figures with conflicting or unmatched measurement conditions are not graphed against one another.
Official product images
Product images must come from Amazon’s authorised image workflow or the official manufacturer, with exact-model checks and recorded usage basis. Public manufacturer images are used at the publisher’s direction; this is not a claim of a separate licence or manufacturer endorsement. Third-party photographs are not accepted. The sources below also cover homepage and category thumbnails; no manufacturer endorsement or retailer stock, bundle or condition is implied.
