Key strengths

The single-sided coiled cable ends in a gold-plated 3.5 mm plug with a 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) adapter, and beyerdynamic says the single-sided cable makes the headphones easier to handle when they are constantly put on and taken off.
Before you buy
At 250 ohms nominal impedance, phones and laptop outputs may not drive it to a comfortable level; beyerdynamic also lists an 80-ohm version (718173) of the same model.
The open-back design lets sound in and out, and there is no microphone, so it is unsuited to noisy places, recording next to a microphone or calls.
The cable is fixed rather than detachable: beyerdynamic states that its classic DT models, including the DT 990 PRO, have fixed cables, whereas its PRO X models come with detachable cables.
