Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max vs Samsung Galaxy S26

The separate Front Camera rows identify pixels, aperture and autofocus.

Native optical lens maximum, separate from optical-quality crop reach.

Apple's sensor-derived optical-quality mode is not a separate native 8x lens.

Main-sensor/crop claim, not an additional native lens.

Apple-published outdoor peak, not an independent measurement; HDR peak is 1,600 nits and typical maximum is 1,000 nits.

Manufacturer's FAQ lists 2,600-nit peak for both S26 and S26+; not independently measured.

Nominal diagonal. Apple UK sources disagree on the standard-rectangle measurement (6.86 versus 6.85 inches); actual viewable area is smaller. See the separate rectangular-diagonal evidence.

Full-rectangle advertised diagonal; rounded corners and camera hole reduce viewable area.

Manufacturer dimensions; not a preference or quality score.

Labelled height.

Labelled depth, without an invented camera-bump measurement.

Exact UK specification. Weight can differ by configuration; no relative US weight is inferred here.

Exact UK device mass, not parcel or differently configured mass.

Labelled width; larger is not automatically preferable.

The comparison retains the UK configuration when the retailer market changes. A model specification does not establish stock or support from a particular network.

Actual retrieved selected-SKU response, not a guessed order code. Identity does not establish current stock or carrier compatibility.

100/120 fps use the Fusion Main camera; this is distinct from Cinematic mode and does not establish recording quality.

The table lists UHD120 under Slow Motion, not ordinary rear 4K capture. A normal-mode maximum needs additional mode-specific evidence.

Center Stage front camera. Rear Fusion Main and front Cinematic mode have separate limits.

General Video Recording Resolution does not establish the front-camera maximum.

No source recorded for this side.

The exact SKU table gives rear-system OIS but does not attach it to every lens. Lens-specific proof remains separate.

25 W is the named adapter in the source test; a maximum sustained handset-input value is not established by that requirement.

Apple claim with a separately sold 40W-capable adapter or higher; not a sustained charging rate.

The source publishes a different endpoint. It does not establish a 0–50% time, and no linear interpolation is used.

The checked specification lists Camera Control exposure, depth, zoom, cameras, styles and tone; it does not establish the full aperture/shutter/white-balance/histogram workflow listed for iPhone 18 Pro.

No source recorded for this side.

Digital video zoom; not optical lens reach or a claim about image quality.

Major-version count and total security duration remain separate; neither is years remaining or hardware lifespan.

Not verified for this exact model.

Seven years from first global launch, not seven years from purchase.

No source recorded for this side.

Seven generations of OS updates; not the same quantity as years of support.

No source recorded for this side.

Launch table wording, not a claim about the latest available or installed release.

Checked 13 September 2026: Apple lists iOS 27 for release on 14 September. Siri AI starts in English beta on supported devices, with regional restrictions and daily limits for some server features. It is not an iPhone 18-exclusive capability or a promise of every feature in every language.

No source recorded for this side.

Named in the rear and front recording specifications. The checked material does not establish the newer music-isolation feature or a measured audio-quality result.

No source recorded for this side.

No source recorded for this side.

Typical capacity, playback and charge endpoint are different manufacturer claims. Adapter power is not maximum handset input or sustained measured power.

No source recorded for this side.

No source recorded for this side.

Exact model row, not a family-wide substitution.

The checked specification does not identify the cellular modem. The Apple N1 wireless networking chip is a separate component.

No source recorded for this side.

Around 30 minutes for the stated endpoint, not a comparable 50%-charge time.

No source recorded for this side.

Up-to endpoint in around 30 minutes with a 25 W compatible adapter; mode, start-state and screen conditions remain source-specific.

The checked A19 Pro specification and launch article do not state the process node. A specification for another A19 variant is not substituted.

No source recorded for this side.

The checked specification lists Cinematic recording but does not establish the newer ordinary-video conversion feature. Editing footage already recorded in Cinematic mode is a separate capability.

No source recorded for this side.

Materials and coating names do not establish comparative drop or scratch resistance.

No source recorded for this side.

No source recorded for this side.

Multiple clock groups, not a sustained all-core clock or benchmark.

No source recorded for this side.
